“Attending the Yoga Service Conference was immensely impactful for me and my newly founded yoga service organization. It was such a tremendous value and so well put together. Many, many thanks for offering this. I feel we found our larger community. We are not alone.”
“What an incredible, jam-packed weekend of service, love, and light. Thank you so very much. I joined the Yoga Service Council and I look forward to next year’s conference and to our collaboration and revolution!”
“Presenters at the Yoga Service Conference were knowledgeable, attentive, engaged, and ever so inspiring. The conference was a wonderful opportunity to connect with folks whose yoga, meditation, and mindfulness practices are primarily focused on service to the world.”
How can we adapt our yoga—in and out of the studio—to meet the needs of individual students, no matter who they are or what their circumstances may be? How do we effectively and compassionately offer yoga and mindfulness classes for at-risk youth, first responders, survivors of trauma, or others during times of vulnerability, while still caring for ourselves? How do we offer yoga that is accessible, inclusive and effective for all individuals, and how is this work connected to creating positive social change?
Join us as we gather to celebrate our practice, purpose, and the growing yoga service movement at the sixth annual Yoga Service Conference, presented by the Yoga Service Council and Omega Institute. Throughout this supportive weekend, we explore concrete tools to integrate directly into our work with others.
You do not need to be a yoga teacher to share these transformative practices with your community and radically improve lives. Social workers and health-care providers, school teachers and counselors, yoga and mindfulness teachers, and others will find the resources, tools, inspiration, and support to reflect on their role as individuals, and as a community, and explore the challenging questions that must be raised if we are to make yoga inclusive, effective, sustainable, and accessible to all.
Choose one of three Pre-Conference Intensives. Then, join us for the full Conference to:
- Discover ways to adapt yoga to meet individual and community needs
- Learn to use yoga effectively in clinical or therapeutic settings
- Address issues of diversity, inclusion, safety, and the influence of implicit bias
- Discuss how to start, grow, and sustain a yoga service organization or network
- Examine the benefits and challenges of introducing yoga and mindfulness practices to a variety of communities
Choose from breakout workshops designed to teach skills, build capacity, and support personal reflection and growth. Optional roundtable discussions and mentoring sessions with advisors and board members from the Yoga Service Council are available. We’ll also have a networking and exhibit event on Sat. evening, where you can connect with Yoga Service Organizations from around the world.
You return home with a renewed sense of purpose and passion, expanded networking and community building skills, and the heartfelt inspiration you need to continue making a difference in the world.
